Planning An Event For Pet Lovers

We love doing Gracie & Lacy performances for #doglovers - from the Humane Society gala to Purina Nestle Pet-Tac-ular, furry friends are our favorite. We have even shared the stage with dancing cats! Here are some fun ideas for planning a nonprofit gala fundraiser with a canine theme:

Furry Friends Photo Booth:

Whether you have stuffed animal props or real, live cuddly puppies, your guests will love snapping selfies or branded logo photos at your event. You might have a few costume pieces on hand such as dog and cat ears. Don't for get to incorporate your brand, logo or event hashtag into your backdrop

Canine-inspired Entertainment:

Gracie & Lacy love to create after-dinner-shows for galas and events with a special canine flair. Many great stars of stage and screen also loved their pets and became activists - one of our favorites is Doris Day. What better way to inspire your donors to support your cause than to work your theme right into a musical variety show? Many of our clients are looking for a way to have a unique draw for their event and offer something their guests have never seen before. A live show is a great way to communicate to your attendees that this is more than a catered dinner in a tux, your event is a night out on the town! Find out how we can help make a live performance happen for your event.

Dog Treats Humans Can Eat:

Ask your favorite caterer to get into the spirit of the event with dog treat shaped cookies for humans! Consider special take-home swag bags that includes goodies for pets and their humans such as coupons for veterinarians and pet salons, edibles, bowties and bandannas, logo branded balls and pet toys, glow accessories for night dog walking safety, and more!

Pet Fashion Show:

Pet and owner look-a-like contests are humorous and tons of fun - you may have to watch the original Disney's 101 Dalmatians for ideas. Pet-only fashion shows are also very popular - we've seen dogs dressed as Winston Churchill, Sumo Wrestlers, Southern Belles, and more. Don't forget to have some fun prizes for the funniest, scariest, and most creativ costumes!

Pet Trick Contest:

Gracie and Lacy's dog Zuzu used to love to show off her tricks - her favorite was putting all of her toys in a basket when we sang the Clean-up Song. Of course fido will love showing off how he can shake, sit, stay, jump through a hoop, answer the phone, etc.

Table Ice Breakers:

Your guests will LOVE this conversation-starter game. Come up with cards for each table with topics such as "Your dog ate what?" or "The funniest thing my pet ever did was..."

We hope these ideas set your creative juices flowing! We'd love to hear your ideas - feel free to post and interact below. If you have a funny pet story post that too it would make out day!
